I finished the last book of the Hunger Games trilogy last night.
I had mixed feelings about the ending, but I guess it worked. The last line was a good one though…. And I don’t dare to say too much as I know there’s at least one person reading this who hasn’t finished the books yet.
All in all, I heavily recommend the Hunger Games to people who:
a) Appreciate adventure-like stories
b) Easily get bored with story lines that are ‘slow’
c) Are okay with reading some gory bits. [I still can’t believe these books are for 12-year olds…]
d) Are planning on seeing the movie in March
e) Are currently reading this right now.
…..Now I have to find a new book to read…
My plans went a little askew anyway.
I ended up waking up at 6:30 on Tuesday morning, giving me 5 minutes to eat breakfast, pack my bag and drive to the gym. Needless to say, I didn’t go- and ended up sleeping in till 8 AM- that wasn’t too bad, if I’m to be honest.
I finished Catching Fire yesterday, and have made my way through a third of Mockingjay.
I definitely understand what the hype about the Hunger Games has been about, they are close to impossible to put down, the events just keep flowing and you have to find out what’s happening next or….Or the world as we know it will implode from never knowing…!
I had no classes today, but still went to school to get some programming done with Sofia. We’re a little stuck on our problems but our lab is tomorrow and we’ll ask for help then.
My evening continued on with my regular spinning and bodybalance classes, and I really gave it my all this week. Subconsciously making up for skipping Tuesday morning’s training session…Most likely.
It’s now 10 PM, but I can’t stop yawning- so I’ll take it as a sign of sleep-deprivation and head off to bed with Mockingjay in my hands. Math at 8 AM tomorrow, sounds fun!
Finally finished Fool’s Fate by Hobb. Not sure what I feel about the ending after 9 books, and I still have the Rain Wild Chronicles left to read, but I decided to put them on hold.
I picked up a quick read and finished The Lover’s Dictionary by David Leviathan within a day.
Now I’m starting on the super-hyped Hunger Games trilogy beginning with no other than, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I wanted to try and finish them all before the movie comes out in…March?
So first, let’s see what the big craze is about….
