Gong xi fa cai!
It’s Chinese New Year’s eve today! And even if I hadn’t known that before today, I’d have understood it after logging on to facebook. My news feed is completely spammed in Chinese and pictures of big new years dinners from relatives and friends.
Considering how little sleep I got on Friday night, I was going to take it easy today. Mummy and I cleaned the house, then I went for a quick two hours at the gym for Sh’Bam and bodypump. I came home, showered, and we were off to my grandparents’ for a lovely dinner.

[Salted duck, pan-fried fish, shark’s fin soup, vegetables, lap cheong, dried fish rom, turnip cake and year cake, and lastly jelly fish]
I guess for people who haven’t tried any of the above, our new year’s dinner sounds a little scary, but I can assure you it’s delicious. And after that huge feast, I’m pretty happy that I worked out before eating. It was hours ago, yet I still feel completely stuffed. New Year’s complete.
I forgot to share a quick picture yesterday.
All this time we’ve successfully avoided getting snowed on… But alas, the snow has managed to catch up with us southerners at last. Definitely not something i’m too happy about- now I have to worry about my buses running on time despite the slippery snowed-up roads.
Great.
